Buckland is looking for a Cyber Security & Network Analyst
What you’ll be doing
This position is responsible for safeguarding the company’s IT infrastructure while ensuring optimal performance of networks and cloud environments. This role bridges traditional networking and cybersecurity functions, ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient operations across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud systems. The analyst will monitor, design, and optimize security measures, troubleshoot issues, and implement best practices to strengthen the company’s digital footprint.

You will be responsible for
- Monitor and administer existing security systems, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and endpoint protection solutions and conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.
- Design and implement Zero Trust principles across network and cloud systems and maintain security policies, standards, and compliance baselines (CIS, NIST, PCI).
- Lead incident response activities and forensic investigations when required and lead certification efforts annually for ISO27001: ISMS.
- Ensure secure configuration and patch management across servers, databases, network devices, and cloud platforms.
- Plan, design, and optimize scalable network architectures (LAN, WAN, VLANs, DMZ, VPN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN), configure and support advanced routing, switching, and segmentation for secure and efficient data flow.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to implement and manage network security zones, redundancy, and performance monitoring, maintain backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
- Document and maintain network topology diagrams, inventories, and configuration repositories.
- Implement and manage cloud-native security controls in Azure and AWS (e.g., Security Groups, IAM policies, Azure AD conditional access).
- Monitor cloud workloads using services such as AWS CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Azure Security Centre, and Sentinel; harden cloud resources, ensuring compliance with company security baselines.
- Assist with cloud migrations and hybrid networking (e.g., Azure VPN Gateway, AWS Direct Connect) by working with database administrators, system engineers, and application teams to ensure security-by-design principles are followed.
- Deploy and optimize monitoring/alerting for cloud workloads.
- Provide Tier 3 support for security and networking issues.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Apply your skills with Microsoft utilizing programs such as Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
- Demonstrate your meticulous attention to detail by ensuring accuracy and decision making.
- Driven by results working in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain a well-organized calendar to balance meetings, tasks, and future initiatives.
- Provide exceptional customer support by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly and effectively.
What we need from you
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent education/experience.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in IT security, networking, and cloud infrastructure.
- Hands-on expertise with: Network technologies: VLANs, VPNs, firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet), IDS/IPS, routing, switching, Wi-Fi security.
- Security frameworks & tools: CIS/NIST/PCI, vulnerability scanners (Nessus, Qualys), SIEM solutions (Rapid7 InsightIDR, Splunk, Azure Sentinel), Endpoint protection (Sophos).
- Operating systems: Windows Server 2016/2019/+, Linux.
- Cloud platforms: Azure and AWS (security, identity, and networking services).
- Experience with incident response and security operations.
- Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Python, Terraform) is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications considered an asset (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, Azure Security Engineer Associate, AWS Security Specialty).
- Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times.
- Valid Passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel if required to other offices locations in CND/USA/MX
