**Hours:**Sundays 3:45pm-7:00pm from June 29 - September 4, 2026 (hours subject to change based on ice availability and registered participant numbers)
Employee Group: Non-Union
Salary:$57.52-$62.21 per hour
Closing Date:Thursday, April 9, 2026at 4:30 PMPURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Power Skating Instructor provides instruction to children and youth for the City of Belleville's power skating programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the safety and supervision of the participants and for ensuring the rules and regulations set out by the Recreation, Culture and Community Services Department and/or outside organizations are followed
- Represent the City with professionalism by following all of the Staff Policies and Procedures set out by the Department
- Must be knowledgeable of City Programs and have strong public relation skills
- Responsible for providing skating instruction and feedback to students and their parents for the City’s power skating programs
- Assume the responsibility for assessing and responding in an emergency situation
- Responsible for administration and paperwork for the City’s power skating programs
- Attend all training and staff meetings as scheduled

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Current Standard First Aid & CPR 'C'

Experience working with children & youth

Skilled skater with experience teaching/coaching skate programs

Satisfactory Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
- Power Skating Instructor experience recommended
- Coaching certifications are an asset
