WHAT IS THIS OPPORUNITY? We are seeking an experienced Technology Supplier Manager and Third Party Risk professional to join the Technology & Operations Supplier Management Office (T&O SMO) team. The successful candidate will supervise Technology & Operations (1st Line of Defense) adherence to the Enterprise Third Party Risk Management Policy and Standards, lead the implementation of third-party risk management programs, and provide expertise in supplier risk management.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Supervise Technology & Operations (1st Line of Defense) adherence to the Enterprise Third Party Risk Management Policy and Standards
- Lead the implementation of third-party risk management programs, initiatives, and escalations
- Manage escalations for day-to-day third-party risk issues raised by engagement owners
- Lead/participate in inquiries and provide artifacts for internal and external audits as requested
- Execute on risk automation and transformation initiatives in partnership with the data strategy and transformation team within the SMO
- Respond to regulator inquiries related to supplier risk
- Act as a back-up for the Director, Supplier Engagement Assurance for everything third-party risk related
- Lead the communication, training, and implementation of programs (e.g., third-party risk management) developed by 2nd Line of Defense and/or by relevant functional units
- Monitor adherence to the requirements in this policy and standard within the 1st Line of Defense, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement
- Support regulatory filings and responses in partnership with 2nd Line of Defense, where appropriate
- Escalate significant issues and incidents to Senior Management and 2nd Line of Defense and participate in resolution as required
- Maintain awareness of the segment's Third-Party & Fourth-Party supplier inventory, outsourcing engagements, and regulatory requirements
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must Have:
- 7+ years of experience in technology risk and governance practices
- 7+ years of experience in the financial services or other regulated industries
- 5+ years of proven Supplier Management experience or experience dealing with internal and external audit, risk, and regulatory groups
- Strong business, technology, and financial acumen, plus a mindset for continuous improvement
- Demonstrated ability to build sustainable, transparent relationships/partnerships
- Strategic thinker/thought leader with strong team leadership and people skills
- Able to build and drive supplier risk management strategies with strong impact and influence capabilities
- Flexible and comfortable in ambiguous situations with a willingness to take a cross-platform approach
- Self-starter able to work with minimal direction
- Strong client focus, relationship building, and "Change/Improvement" mindset
Nice To Have:
- Risk assessment and quantification methodologies, conflict and issue resolution, and escalation experience
- Experience with process mapping and analysis techniques, such as swimlane diagrams or value stream mapping
- Knowledge of change management principles and strategies
- Familiarity with cloud based platforms and tools
