Therefore, we are seeking anAdvisor/Project Manager - New Venturesto join our growing team inCalgary, Alberta. This dynamic role you will lead cross-functional deal teams to originate, evaluate, and execute strategic growth opportunities across the Americas, including government bid rounds and farm-ins/outs. Serving as the central integrator between subsurface, commercial, legal, and finance teams, you will drive high-quality investment decisions through disciplined opportunity screening and transaction execution. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in Geosciences, experience in Exploration New Ventures, and the project management skills to handle complex, multi-phase priorities. Experience in South America is an asset.

##Your Background

  • Degree in Geoscience or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in upstream oil & gas Exploration, Business Development or Commercial roles.
  • Demonstrated experience with licensing rounds, farm-ins/farm-outs and transaction negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of subsurface evaluation, petroleum economics and fiscal regimes.
  • Experience working on opportunities across the Americas, with South America experience preferred (including familiarity with regional regulatory frameworks, fiscal systems and stakeholder environments).
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders and tight timelines.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in complex, high-pressure environments.
  • Strategic thinking and opportunity framing.

##Your Role with Our Team

Opportunity Origination & Strategy

  • Identify and develop a robust pipeline of Exploration New Venture opportunities across priority basins in the Americas.
  • Monitor government licensing rounds, regulatory developments, and competitor activity to proactively position the company.
  • Build and maintain relationships with host governments, national oil companies, partners and industry stakeholders.
  • Support regional portfolio strategy development including entry/exit recommendations.

Deal Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead cross-functional teams including geoscience, engineering, commercial, legal and finance.
  • Define clear workplans, timelines and deliverables across origination, evaluation, approval and execution phases.
  • Ensure alignment across technical and commercial workstreams to support integrated decision-making.
  • Drive accountability and effective communication across internal stakeholders and senior leadership.

Technical & Commercial Evaluation

  • Oversee integrated opportunity evaluations, including subsurface risking, resource assessments, economic modeling and valuation.
  • Ensure robust screening criteria is utilized.
  • Assess fiscal regimes, contractual terms and above-ground risks including political, regulatory and ESG factors.

Transaction Execution

  • Lead or support bid preparation and submission for government licensing rounds.
  • Structure, negotiate and execute farm-in and farm-out agreements, joint bidding arrangements and related transactions.
  • Coordinate due diligence processes and manage data rooms, confidentiality agreements and partner interactions.
  • Work closely with legal and commercial teams to finalize agreements and secure internal approvals.

Governance & Decision Support

  • Prepare high-quality materials for approval committees and executive decision forums.
  • Present recommendations supported by clear analysis of risks, value drivers and strategic fit.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of opportunities, evaluations and decisions within BD systems.
