Fowler Construction is seeking a Senior Manager of Fleet to provide strategic leadership and oversight of a 400+ piece fleet supporting construction, highway maintenance, and materials operations. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role is accountable for fleet strategy, financial performance, lifecycle management, compliance, and operational readiness. The successful candidate will bring a strong blend of mechanical expertise, commercial acumen, and people leadership to ensure the fleet enables safe, efficient, and profitable operations across the organization.

Key Duties:
· Provide strategic leadership over the company’s fleet operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, operational demands, and long-term business strategy.
· Develop and execute fleet strategies encompassing asset lifecycle management, capital planning, utilization optimization, and replacement forecasting.
· Lead fleet-related budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives, ensuring strong financial discipline and return on investment.
· Oversee procurement, leasing, and disposal of fleet assets, negotiating with vendors and suppliers to achieve best value and service levels.
· Establish and enforce fleet governance, policies, and standards to ensure regulatory compliance, safety, and consistency across business units.
· Collaborate with Operations, Construction, Materials, and CDMC leadership to ensure fleet availability supports project schedules and contract requirements.
· Monitor fleet performance through KPIs, analytics, and reporting, using data to drive continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
· Provide senior oversight of maintenance strategies, preventative programs, and downtime reduction initiatives.
· Lead, mentor, and develop fleet management and supervisory staff, fostering accountability, succession planning, and high performance.
· Represent fleet operations at the senior leadership level, providing insights, recommendations, and reporting to executive management.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience managing and developing teams.
- 5+ years of fleet management experience, overseeing large, diverse fleets.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, with working knowledge of light-duty vehicles, fleet trucks, and related equipment.
- Experience with winter maintenance operations and regulatory environments.
- Knowledge of or experience managing yellow iron and heavy equipment considered a strong asset.
- Proven strengths in financial management, strategic planning, and vendor negotiation.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with fleet systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid G driver’s license required.
Work Conditions:
- Travel to various sites may be required.
- Indoor and outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
