Your job
- Lead all aspects of team development: recruitment, onboarding, training, and continuous improvement
- Oversee non-automated financial and non-financial transactions for Fundserv and manual investment products (non-Fundserv), including registered and non-registered plans (RRSPs, RRIFs/LIFs, TFSAs, etc.)
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of GIC and fixed income transactions, maintaining compliance and operational integrity
- Foster a culture of growth and innovation in a context of digitization and automation
- Monitor emerging technologies and process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs
- Manage budgets, workforce planning, and overall performance metrics for your sector
- Ensure adherence to compliance standards and mitigate operational risks
- Collaborate with internal partners to implement strategies that enhance the client experience
- Represent your sector in internal and external committees and partner roundtables
Your team
Within the Investments Operations sector you report to Senior Manager, MFDO. You oversee a team of approximately 35 professionals responsible for executing transactions across a broad range of investment products—including mutual funds, GICs, and fixed income instruments—distributed through various National Bank of Canada business lines. You play a key role in coaching, developing, and maximizing your team’s potential while contributing to operational excellence and transformation.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience
- Proven experience in team leadership and coaching
- Strong adaptability and comfort with uncertainty
- In-depth knowledge of investment processes, registered plans, and products including GICs and fixed income
- Solid understanding of CIRO regulatory requirements
- Experience in project delivery and change management
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
- Strong analytical and synthesis capabilities
- Familiarity with management concepts such as capacity planning and continuous improvement
- Ability to motivate and unify teams
- Effective prioritization and organizational skills
