The Vehicle and Equipment Repair Section Supervisor position is located in Meaford, Ontario at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre. This role is responsible for all repairs assigned to his section. They also supervise the repair section staff and enforces all pertinent environmental and safety regulations.

- Control and supervise all repairs in and out of the Vehicle Repair Section;
- Supervise all repair technicians in the Vehicle Repair Section and assesses their performances;
- Verify and sign all section personnel timesheets;
- Verify and forward completed work orders to the Control Office;
- Instruct technicians on recovery techniques and produce a recovery schedule;
- Monitor technician qualifications and ensure currency;
- Ensure that all fire and industrial safety, WHMIS and environmental regulations are adhered to;
- Ensure that all work spaces are kept clean, orderly and hazard free
- Be responsible for all accountable items held within Supply Customer Account (SCA);
- Be responsible for the CBO Assets assigned to the section;
- Instruct radio procedure, range safety and specific driver training; and
- Carry out any other duties as detailed by the department manager. 1. Perform corrective, preventative and modification maintenance on all vehicles and equipment assigned for repair;
- Look up and order repair parts;
- Perform requested recovery operations;
- Initiate and assist in the preparation of Unsatisfactory Condition Reports (UCRs) and Technical Failure
- Reports (TFRs) and forward to the Control Office;
- Prepare personal timesheets;
- Operate and service trade specific and common hand and power tools; and
- Keep work spaces and general areas clean, orderly and hazard free.
- Comply with all Department of National Defense (DND) and Canadian Base Operators (CBO) policies and procedures.
Education Requirements
- DND QL6A or Ontario Motor Vehicle Mechanic License 310S or 310T
Work Experience Requirements
- 10 years experience as Motor Vehicle mechanic
- 3 years experience as a supervisor
Skills, Abilities, And Other Requirements Proficient knowledge and understanding of:
- Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Teams
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and with minimal direction
- Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance- continuous residency in Canada for the last 10 years is a mandatory requirement.*
- Must possess a clear driver’s abstract; and must be able to obtain and maintain a military 404 Driver’s License
