As a FP&A Analyst working in the Building team at Pomerleau Construction, you will serve as the key business partner to the Regional Vice President, providing direct financial insight and strategic analysis that supports regional performance and growth initiatives. Supporting our work on large-scale construction projects - ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion - you will ensure compliance within the standards of established when projects are opened whilst also collaborating with the project team in establishment of budget and forecast structures. You will play a key role in contributing significantly to the analyzing of the cost controls within our projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with Regional VP and project managers to build and monitor annual budgets and monthly forecasts. Provide strategic analysis and insight on variances, risks, and opportunities. Ensure the integrity and compliance of monthly project revenue and cost reporting.

  • Drive Project Financial Project Management: Establish budget structures tailored to project types. Ensure the integrity of revenue and cost reporting across your regional business unit.

  • Support Executive & Stakeholder Reporting: Deliver clear, impactful financial analysis and dashboards for the regional VP and main of point of contact to support Regional VP on any ad-hoc financial analysis.

  • Ensure Financial Accuracy & Audit Readiness: Oversee monthly WIP adjustments, project accounting, backlog updates, and compliance controls. Contribute to year-end audits and proactively flag significant issues to leadership.

  • Champion Cost Control and Enhance Forecasting: Partner with accounting and administrative teams to resolve project-related issues and continuously improve financial processes.

  • Champion Cost Control & Team Enablement: Train new employees on cost control tools, embed finance best practices into project onboarding, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration from day one.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, management, business administration, or finance-related field; ideally with a Professional Designation (CFA, CPA or MBA).
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position within the construction industry (an asset).
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Superior communication skills; including ability to interact directly with executives.
  • Ability to anticipate and plan priority tasks, good listening skills and synthesis abilities.
