About the role

Introduction

The Jim Pattison Auto Group is seeking an energetic, reliable, and organized Detail Attendant to be the pillar of support for our Canyon Creek Toyota dealership. As a supporting role for our Detail department, you’ll play a key part in ensuring that our vehicles are well presented to our customers.

You’ll take pride in delivering an excellent experience, being detail oriented, and ensuring every interaction reflects our strong commitment to our customers. This is a great role to start your career in the automotive industry, with limitless opportunities for growth and progression.

Schedule: This is a full-time, permanent role of 40 hours per week.

This role reports to the Service Manager of the dealership.

A Day in the Life

  • Perform thorough interior and exterior detailing of customer and inventory vehicles, including washing, vacuuming, shampooing, polishing, waxing, and finishing work
  • Maintain and monitor the cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of all vehicles on-site
  • Maneuver, arrange, and relocate vehicles safely within the dealership or detailing area as required
  • Inspect vehicles before and after detailing to ensure quality standards are met
  • Identify and promptly report any vehicle damage, mechanical concerns, or property-related issues
  • Safely and properly use detailing tools, equipment, and cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer and company information at all times
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented, and productive work environment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

  • A valid Alberta Driver’s license is required, including a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract report
  • Previous experience in the automotive industry is considered a strong asset
  • Ability to operate both automatic and manual transmissions is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship
  • Strong customer service mindset with a friendly, professional, and approachable attitude
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable work ethic
  • This is a physically active role that requires:
  • Frequent walking throughout the dealership, lot, and detailing areas
  • Extended periods of standing, bending, crouching, and reaching
  • Regular handling of cleaning products, tools, and detailing equipment
  • Operation of vehicles with both automatic and manual transmissions
  • Significant time working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including sun, rain, wind, snow, cold, and heat (weather conditions are monitored for safety when necessary)
