Senior Developer
About the role
Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Developer in the financial industry in Toronto, Ontario. We are seeking a Senior Developer to join our Cloud Engineering team. This role is critical to maintaining and optimizing our Azure-based cloud database infrastructure, which underpins several production applications. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain exposure to cloud technologies, and there could be opportunities to work on Terraform and migration.
Responsibilities
- Work with Microsoft Azure technologies, including virtual machines, databases, and networks
- Improve operational efficiency by enabling increased automation and external connections for Cloud databases
- Facilitate and support projects connecting in from external environments
- Enhance user feedback for cloud capabilities
- Maintain best-in-class user experience for our platform
- Ensure a clean support board meeting SLA, fully supporting users' needs
- Potential work to migrate from Jenkins pipelines to Terraform
- Provision and troubleshoot databases, working closely with DBAs
Must Have
- 8+ years of relevant experience as a developer/engineer
- 8+ years of relevant experience as a developer/engineer
- 3+ years of experience working with databases (e.g., SQL) at an advanced level
- 2+ years of experience programming in Java
- Good communication and team collaboration skills
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., computer science, engineering)
- Microsoft certification is an asset
- Nice to have: Experience with GCP, Terraform, Docker, and CI/CD
Total Rewards
- Competitive hourly rate of $75-80/hour (incorporated)
- Hybrid work environment with 2-4 days/week onsite in downtown Toronto (subject to change)
