Your role at Baxter
The HR Generalist interacts with multiple client groups supporting a broad range of HR Functions including recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, performance management, and execution of HR programs.
What you'll be doing
- Partner with people leaders to provide direction on employee development, team dynamics and effective leadership practices.
- Works independently to resolve straightforward ER issues and act as a first point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment through proactive engagement.
- Support and assist with local implementation of Baxter-wide HR programs/policies (e.g., annual compensation review, talent review and planning) .
- Support compliance with Global training requirements throughout new employee onboarding.
- Proactively communicate HR policies, programs and employee information.
- Manage employee leaves including medical, parental as per legislation.
- Coordinate return-to-work processes, ensuring smooth transitions and compliance with applicable policies and legislation.
What you'll bring
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- HR Certification or Designation is required.
- Up to 3+ years in HR Coordination/Leave Management.
- Working understanding of Ontario Employment Standards Act and similar Provincial employment legislation.
- Previous experience in time sensitive, deadline driven environment.
- High comfort level in interacting with and navigating across multiple levels within an organization.
- Previous HR Operations or HR Coordinator experience is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and credibility across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion, empathy and integrity.
- Analytical mentality with attention to detail.
- Experience with HRIS systems and reporting tools.
- Proven understanding of employment legislation (ESA, AODA, Human Rights Code).
