Talent Planner-Resource Management
About the role
This is a hybrid role that required to be in various CGI Offices as required.
You will be directly working with the Director of the Business Operations team and partners (Finance, Delivery, HR, and Global Delivery Centers) to provide internal management consulting, analysis support for key functional groups and overall Business Unit operations.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to showcase their solid academic background combined with an ambitious entrepreneurial spirit and an affinity to work closely with senior-level management.

Your future duties and responsibilities
- Assign appropriate resources to engagements, reviewing available project options and presenting suitable resource recommendations based on project requirements. (complexity of engagement, expertise required, etc.)
- Regularly communicate with business leaders to discuss staffing requirements and to gain an understanding of specific engagement needs, deadlines and engagement economics. Work within the Business Unit and across Strategic BU to manage available resources to optimize utilization.
- Assign resources to active requirements as identified; proactively investigate current projects for resources that may be able to be repurposed to meet new requirements on new engagements.
- Ensure appropriate staffing solutions are identified in a timely manner by considering engagement requirements and developmental goals of resources. Negotiate with leaders to shift time or create individual availability in order to meet staffing priorities.
- Monitor available resources, act as primary point of contact for resources available and proactively identify potential assignments with business unit leaders.
- Monitor and facilitate the sharing of resources; network with other resources across professional practices and verticals to address resource needs and/or conflicts, workload re-balancing and optimization opportunities for all resources.
- Maintain CGI-built tools and staffing software regarding relevant client/engagement data, member preferences, skills and competencies etc.
- Work with internal clients to communicate project forecasting, availability and capacity management reporting as needed by the leadership teams, used for the purposes of forecasting hours, tracking utilization and monitoring headcount.
- Review actual and projected utilization, anticipate availability and proactively take action to minimize unassigned time while balancing the workload of all resources. Raise issues identified to business leaders and member relations.
- Participate in orientation, providing details to new hires on the resource management process.
- Proactively identify and address scheduling issues (i.e. high/low utilization, high or low overtime)
- Assist client group in achieving contractor usage targets by proactively monitoring contractor activity, and identifying/implementing alternatives to reduce organization's exposure.
- Lead weekly resourcing calls for each LOB and interface with the talent acquisition teams.
- Periodic travel to various CGI offices and client sites to meet with leaders and members.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role

Undergraduate degree in business, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum 5 + years in Resource Management, preferably within a management or consulting firm environment.

High level of proficiency in MS Excel and a variety of resource management tools for the purposes of creating and interpreting reporting.

Demonstrated understanding of project resource utilization and optimization.

Proven experience in “just in time" resource assignment.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,000–$130,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
