JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT-DEDUCTION AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION-CALGARY ALBERTA With approximately 3,300 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC (“JBS Canada”) is one of Canada's largest beef processors. Consisting of four locations—the main processing facility located in Brooks, Alberta, where approximately 4,200 head of cattle are harvested and processed daily; the Head Office and a case ready plant, both based in Calgary, Alberta; and JBS Ontario, a case ready plant located in Belleville, Ontario. The JBS Canada facility in Brooks has the capacity to produce products ranging from boxed beef primals, ground beef, beef trimmings, beef by-products and hides which are shipped across Canada and worldwide. At the multi-protein Mountain Creek Farms case-ready facility in Calgary, JBS Canada produces value-added products including marinated, portion sized, multi-pack options, kebabs and much more. JBS Ontario in Belleville produces fresh meat and seafood products for leading retailers in Canada.

NOTE: This role will be located in the head office in Calgary, Alberta. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree/diploma in accounting, finance or business administration;
  • Strong experience in accounts receivable, collections, or deduction management.
  • Good communication and ability to take ownership and lead claims/deductions investigation and reconciliation.
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures;
  • Computer proficiency, including effective working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook;
  • SAP previous experience is an asset
  • High level of critical thinking, logical thinking and analysis and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons or facts;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently or as part of a team;
  • Perform well under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills;
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work;
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong work ethic and high level of personal integrity; Confident, consistent, decisive and strong personality;
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Experience in a B2B environment.
  • Knowledge of dispute resolution best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor incoming customer payments and identify deductions or discrepancies.
  • Investigate the nature of deductions (e.g., pricing disputes, short shipments, promotional allowances).
  • Collaborate with internal departments (Sales, Customer Service, Logistics) to gather supporting documentation.
  • Contact customers to resolve disputes and recover outstanding balances.
  • Maintain accurate records of deduction cases and resolution status.
  • Prepare regular reports on deduction trends and resolution performance.
  • Recommend process improvements to reduce future deductions.
  • Support month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.
  • Process deduction/Clain clearings and JE
  • Prepare monthly SOX reconciliation
