Position Overview: The Sr. Business Analyst - Modernization will be responsible for leading business analysis activities including requirements elicitation and documentation, business process analysis and redesign, solution definition, integration and data migration coordination, testing and quality assurance planning, and stakeholder engagement. The role will ensure business needs are clearly defined, validated, and translated into effective technical solutions aligned with ASHC’s modernization objectives and enterprise architecture. Initially this role will be onsite in Edmonton, AB then has the option for Hybrid or Remote Key Responsibilities: The Senior Business Analyst - Modernization
- Elicit, document, and analyze business, stakeholder, and solution requirements from internal teams and external stakeholders for enhancements and operational improvements to ASHC’s enterprise applications, including the Microsoft Dynamics 365 HOME platform and related digital services.
- Translate business needs into clear and actionable requirements, including business process models, user stories, business rules, data definitions, workflow diagrams, and functional specifications.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops, interviews, and working sessions to identify business needs, validate requirements, and support alignment between operational objectives and technical solutions.
- Collaborate with development teams, architects, and technical specialists to refine solution designs, clarify requirements, and support the implementation of system enhancements and new capabilities.
- Develop and support quality assurance activities, including defining acceptance criteria, preparing test plans and test cases, coordinating user acceptance testing, and validating that delivered solutions meet business requirements.
- Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for optimization, automation, and improved service delivery across ASHC programs and digital platforms.
- Maintain and update business architecture artifacts, including process documentation, requirements traceability, and supporting documentation to reflect evolving systems and operational practices.
- Support the development and enhancement of reporting and business intelligence solutions by defining reporting requirements, collaborating with technical teams on dashboards or report development, and ensuring outputs meet operational and decision-making needs.
- Assist in the planning, prioritization, and coordination of application enhancements and improvement initiatives, working with business and technical teams to manage competing priorities and delivery timelines.
- Develop and maintain user documentation, operational procedures, and training materials, and support knowledge transfer activities to ensure effective adoption and ongoing use of delivered solutions.

Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 15+ years demonstrated experience performing senior business analysis within complex enterprise environments, preferably within experience in government, public sector, or large non-profit organizations.
- Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise technology implementations, including requirements development, solution delivery, and operational transition activities.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Preferred certifications include Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA), Prosci Change Management Certification, or equivalent recognized credentials.
- Demonstrated experience working within Microsoft Dynamics 365 or comparable enterprise CRM or case management platforms.
- Experience supporting multi-stakeholder initiatives involving cross-functional teams, external partners, and enterprise service providers.
