Full-time (approx. 16-month contract, 37.5 hours/week).
Wage Rate: $34.46 – $36.93 per hour

Developmental Services Ontario Central West Region, administered by Sunbeam Community & Developmental Services, is the contact point for adult developmental services in Dufferin, Halton, Peel, Waterloo, and Wellington.
DSO Central West Region is presently inviting applications for:
Service Navigator (approx.. 16-month contract) – Dufferin/Peel (Mississauga Office)
Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
The role of Service Navigator is responsible for the provision of navigation services within the Developmental Services Ontario Central West Region program. The Service Navigator will collaborate with individuals, their families and staff of community agencies to address the needs of adults who have a developmental disability and/or dual diagnosis who are seeking MCCSS funded developmental services. Specific job duties include but are not limited to the following:

- Provide information to individuals and the public about how to apply for MCCSS funded adult developmental services and supports, including the application process
- Work collaboratively with the community to inform and direct people to available community supports, fee-for-service options, other government supports, employment supports etc.
- Upon contact review and ensure individual’s information is up to date in agency and ministry databases processing any new referrals and requests.
- Oversee social media platforms and DSO General email account
- Establish and maintain informal and formal networks through interagency committees and collaborative initiatives
- Actively participate on internal and external committees and working groups as required
The successful applicant will have:

- A university degree or college diploma in a related social services field (Sociology, Psychology, Developmental Services, Community Services, etc.) combined with experience serving individuals of all ages with a developmental disability, including those who have a dual diagnosis in a variety of community settings and programs
- Demonstrated understanding and respect for people of diverse backgrounds
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office and other computer related equipment and programs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Possession of a valid vehicle operator’s license and clean driving record
- Certification in CPI-Prepare Training would be an asset
- Require some flexibility including evenings and occasional weekends
