Compliance Analyst (Legal Risk & Compliance Department) – Canada Job Summary We are currently looking for a dynamic and experienced Compliance Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our firm operates with integrity and efficiency. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, be collaborative, professional, adaptable, positive and interested in their work.
Work Environment As part of the Firm-wide Legal Risk and Compliance team, this role can be located in any of the Canadian cities that Fasken has offices (Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Calgary, Tsuut’ina Nations, Vancouver, Surrey). This role will be hybrid with occasional requirements as per business needs for onsite office collaboration and support. The successful candidate must live in or around their regional office and be able to commute to the office as often as required. In-office requirements are subject to change, based on business needs as determined by the Firm’s Management and applicable business group.
Hours of work are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. Occasional pre-authorized overtime may be required to meet business needs.

Primary Responsibilities
- Opening client files and conducting conflict-of-interest screenings to support both new matters and lateral lawyer recruitment.
- Building and managing ethical walls using InTapp Walls, in coordination with our global offices.
- Generating insightful reports on client and firm files, including during lawyer transitions.
- Drafting and updating procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
- Delivering training and creating reference materials to support firm-wide understanding of compliance practices.
- Contributing to national compliance initiatives that shape the future of our firm.
Required Knowledge And Experience
- Strong foundation in compliance and professional services, demonstrated through either a university degree with at least one (1) year of relevant experience — or through an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience that showcases your expertise in legal compliance.
- Business-level proficiency in English. While French is not required, it’s a valued skill set in our team.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office and comfort with legal tech tools.
- Exceptional organizational abilities and the agility to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
- A high level of professionalism, discretion, and a passion for continuous learning.
- A collaborative spirit and a commitment to delivering outstanding service.

Compensation The typical salary range for this position is $63,000 - $83,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal and market equity.
