Reporting to the District Maintenance Manager, the Exterior Maintenance Lead will support in leading the day-to-day operations of exterior maintenance of our Queen’s Marque District in downtown Halifax. The successful candidate will ensure the presentation of the property is upheld in accordance with company standards
As Exterior Maintenance Lead, you will get to:
- Assist with the day-to-day exterior operations and exterior maintenance of building systems and mechanical equipment across a designated area of the commercial portfolio.
- Effectively support seasonal exterior maintenance work including landscaping and/or snow removal, salting etc.
- Effectively complete repairs and maintenance work.
- Follow instructions and implement company practices and procedures while maintaining open and fluid communication with team members.
- Maintaining the condition of the buildings and tenant spaces, performing repairs and arranging for trades to perform other repairs.
- Liaising with external service providers present in the building to ensure tasks are performed in accordance with Employer standards.
- Liaising with the Manager and the building controls team with respect to outstanding issues, procedures and practices at the site.
- Lead and direct junior team members with respect to all exterior maintenance duties.
What we are looking for:
- At least 3 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
- Experience supervising a team of employees (in the maintenance industry is an asset).
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- A keen eye for detail
- A passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
- A flexible schedule, with the ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Basic computer skills to access maintenance ticketing, software, send emails and generate basic reports.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 50lbs individually
- Lifting >50lbs with another person(s)
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time
- Repetitive bending
- Climbing / work from ladders
- Working overhead
- Crouching / kneeling for extended periods of time
