Mission

This role serves as the organization’s most senior Human Resources executive and is a key member of the executive leadership team. The position is responsible for leading the development and execution of a comprehensive people strategy that supports the organization’s vision, mission, and business objectives. As the architect of the organization’s culture, this role leads initiatives to enhance organizational performance, foster an inclusive and engaging workplace, and position the company as an employer of choice.

Main Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Develop and execute a forward-thinking people strategy that aligns with the company’s strategic objectives and long-term vision. Act as a trusted advisor to the President and executive leadership team on all matters related to talent, culture, and organizational effectiveness. Serve as a cultural steward, championing initiatives to reinforce the organization’s values and create a unified, high-performance culture. Ensure strategic alignment across subsidiaries and corporate entities to achieve specific outcomes and realize impacts required by stakeholders.

Organizational Design

Lead the design and optimization of the organizational structure to support business growth, agility, and scalability. Oversee large-scale change management initiatives, ensuring successful adoption and alignment with strategic priorities. Implement workforce planning strategies to address current and future talent needs, including succession planning for key roles.

Talent Strategy & Leadership Development

Drive the development of a robust leadership pipeline through targeted programs, coaching, and professional development opportunities. Lead strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent, ensuring the organization remains competitive in the market. Partner with executives to identify critical talent gaps and implement strategies to address them proactively.

Total Rewards & Well-Being

Oversee the development of innovative total rewards strategies that balance employee value with organizational sustainability. Ensure compensation, benefits, and recognition programs align with market benchmarks and support the company’s culture and talent strategy. Champion initiatives to promote employee well-being, mental health, and work-life integration.

Culture, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Lead the organization’s efforts to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. Design and implement programs to measure and improve employee engagement and belonging. Partner with leaders at all levels to integrate inclusive practices into business operations and decision-making.

HR Operations & Compliance

Ensure the delivery of efficient and scalable HR services that enhance the employee experience. Maintain compliance with all applicable labor laws, regulations, and company policies. Oversee the implementation of HR technology solutions to drive process efficiency and data-driven decision-making. Partnering with the global HRIS and IT teams to implement global standards, drive data accuracy and compliance, and ensure consistent, efficient HR processes across the Canadian organization.

Executive Collaboration & Reporting

Partner with the global HR leadership and country executive team to provide people-related insights and recommendations that drive business outcomes. Present regular updates to the President and Global CHRO people metrics, risks, and strategic progress. Act as a liaison between employees, leadership, and external stakeholders on matters of culture and talent. Create relationships and trust across all business lines including the HR Leadership teams, executive committees and senior leadership.

Your Profile

Qualifications & Experience

12+ years of experience in a Human Resources leadership position or related field. Demonstrated success in leading cultural transformation and driving business results through people strategies. Human Resources designation is preferred. Experience in preparing budget, managing and controlling expenses.

Skills & Competencies

Visionary leadership with the ability to inspire and influence at all levels of the organization. Strong business acumen and the ability to align people strategies with organizational goals. Expertise in talent management, organizational design, DEI, and total rewards. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Proficiency in leveraging HR analytics to drive decision-making and measure success. Language Skills: English is required; Bilingual in French and English preferred.
