SUMMARY The Procurement Buyer supports end‑to‑end purchasing activities, acting as a key contact for procurement enquiries while managing sourcing, PO processing, supplier communication, and day‑to‑day purchasing needs. The role contributes to procurement strategy, conducts supplier evaluations and RFQs, analyzes data for cost‑saving opportunities, and partners with internal teams to drive continuous improvement across the Procure‑to‑Pay process. This role requires a detail‑oriented, self‑motivated problem solver who takes ownership of issues from identification through resolution. PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE PROCUREMENT OPERATIONS & SUPPORT Act as the key contact and support internal and external procurement enquiries. Support operational request from sourcing, PO’s, change orders, delivery & invoice issues. Order materials and services in a fast-paced environment (translating field needs, obtaining quotes, placing orders, and ensuring timely fulfilment).Provide recommendation and guidance to internal Business Units with respect to procurement and supply chain strategy. Communicate status, risks, process changes, and compliance with respect to day to day purchasing activities. Sourcing suppliers, negotiating orders, and managing the procurement process efficiently, while measuring up to various KPI (key performance indicators) STAKEHOLDER & SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT Foster business relationships with Project Managers, Operational Personnel and Shared Services to support GIP. Actively communicate with suppliers to improve the processes and business with GIP. Balance and influence local/regional decision making to align with corporate oversite, growth, and best practices of Procurement and GIP. STRATEGIC PROCUREMENT, ANALYSIS & DECISION SUPPORT Assist in analyzing data to identify new opportunities for cost savings or increased service coverage. Research, evaluate, and recommend suppliers based on the best value to GIP which include price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production, distribution capabilities, and the supplier’s reputation and history. Design, build, issue RFQ’s, manage responses and complete Total Cost of Ownership Analysis. PROCESS IMPROVEMENT & CONTINUOUS ENHANCEMENT Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement for the business. POSITION REQUIREMENTS 2+ years of previous work experience in a Procurement or Supply Chain Management role. Previous experience in Construction/Infrastructure is considered an asset. Buying experience of construction materials (e.g., MRO & PPE, cement, equipment rentals, aggregates, metals, waterworks, lumber) is considered an asset. Certificate Program/Diploma/Degree in Supply chain, Business Highly detail‑oriented with strong analytical skills and accuracy in PO, pricing, & data work. Self‑motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision. Strong problem‑solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset. Demonstrated accountability for end‑to‑end purchasing activities, including follow‑up and resolution of supplier, delivery, and invoice issues. Administration, Project Management, or related fields. Advanced Excel skills. Software experience with Zip P2P is considered an asset. Holding a valid drivers license is considered an asset. WHAT WE OFFER Expected Base Salary: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year. The actual base salary will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location and market expectations. Annual performance-based bonus.
