Job Summary Will be responsible for managing a team to increase sales and profitability by managing the promotion, specification and sales of our Mechanical products in Alberta. The primary objective is to develop and execute sales strategies while managing sales reps with a focus on the entire customer chain, which includes distribution partners, contractors, building officials and the engineering community.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Directly manage Sales Reps located throughout territory. Provides reps with training, guidance and assistance in efforts to obtain favorable product specifications and increase sales opportunities for IPEX products.
  • Establishes strategic objectives and standards for reps and monitors the effectiveness of existing reps to ensure optimum efficiency.
  • Plan and allocate time and resources to ensure sales objectives will meet the goals outlined in the company business plan.
  • Interact with internal departments, such as Customer Service, Operations and Marketing regarding pricing, delivery, training, product manufacturing and availability. Ensures that accurate information is effectively disseminated and that cooperation is maintained between departments.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders and customers. Coach, mentor and provide feedback to a team of sales reps to enable a high performing team.
  • Provide reports as required in regards to market share, staff competencies, budgeting, forecasting or other reports.
  • Attendance would be required at trade shows, meetings, luncheons and other industry events to promote IPEX and enhance networking possibilities both within and outside of the Alberta Region.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Post secondary education is considered an asset, but not required
  • 2-5+ years’ experience in sales
  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Experience with sales tools – CRM, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel
  • Relationship builder, positive attitude, friendly, collaborative and responsive.
  • Confident, self-starter, entrepreneurial.
  • Critical thinker, problem solver, decision maker
  • Qualified risk taker with attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
  • Value selling, negotiating.
