Position Overview Reporting to the Director, Retail Store Operations, the Sr. Specialist, Retail Workforce Management is responsible for driving strategic workforce planning and execution across the retail network. This role leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of workforce management practices that enhance the customer experience, optimize labor productivity, and support operational excellence.
What You'll Do
- Support the execution of workforce strategies that drive customer experience and optimize sales per labor hour across all retail locations.
- Ensure consistency in schedule creation, while maintaining compliance with local labour laws and HR standards.
- Lead all new Workforce Management projects and initiatives, including system upgrades, process improvements, and change management efforts.
- Execute the customization and configuration of the Workforce Management system to meet evolving business needs and optimize workflows.
- Support new store openings by ensuring workforce management systems are fully configured and operational prior to opening week.
- Conduct weekly performance analysis of payroll usage and scheduling trends to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and cost control.
- Partner with stores and internal teams to gather feedback on tool functionality, reporting needs, and potential enhancements.
- Collaborate with HR and Field Leadership to review in-store headcount standards aligned with business goals.
- Support the Master Retail Planning Calendar with key workforce management dates and milestones.
- Provide ongoing operational support to stores in executing Canada Goose retail standards, rules, and best practices.
Let's Talk About You
- Minimum 5 years of experience in one or a combination of the following industries: apparel or retail industry, top-tier consulting firm or investment banking
- Proven ability to execute strategic initiatives and deliver actionable insights.
- Undergraduate degree in a discipline that teaches quantitative and qualitative analysis and critical thinking
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Can understand ‘the big picture’ and exercise good business judgement
- Ability to structure, break down and solve complex business issues
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and multitask effectively to meet changing priorities and tight deadlines
- Able to partner with other functions/business leaders on complex problems and business issues
- Ability to inspire and lead others to action, both direct subordinates and peers
- Strong understanding of retail and apparel industry, up-to-date on industry events and hold perspective on major issues
- Ability to analyze financial reports
