About the role

Description Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Excellence and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, the Clinical Educator provides leadership in development activities, and clinical education. Applies adult learning principles as part of education delivery. Is responsible in ensuring that best practices are being achieved through appropriate ongoing education of staff clinically, administratively, and with technology to ensure excellent client outcomes. Participates in quality improvement initiatives as required.

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday (8:30am to 4:30pm)

This is temporary position for Maternity Leave coverage Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience, preferably with educational background.
  • Current active license & in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector Screen
  • Ability to meet standardized requirements based on work environment.
  • Fluent English Skills in verbal, reading and written communication that meets the job requirement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, and the ability to learn new programs specific to the business.
  • Experience with change management is an asset.

Essential Functions Provide the following leadership functions for CBI Home Health employees:

  • Work closely with operations and other clinical leaders to develop training curriculum; mentoring and coaching in training.
  • Develop and facilitate orientation programs that meets service delivery standards.
  • Research and design clinical training processes and procedures and support regional clinical initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain an education plan including any related outcome measures for quality assurance / improvement initiatives.
  • Coach and mentor subject matter experts to leverage expertise and promote collaboration within the clinical network.
  • Facilitate and deliver clinical training sessions to field staff.
  • Implement and participate in agency wide public health initiatives.
  • Provide client specific training as required.
  • Maintains knowledge of care requirements/trends in appropriate settings i.e. home care and congregate care settings and participates in identifying services/training required to meet them.
  • Participate in life-long learning and maintain professional competencies as required by professional body and current legislation.
  • Documents professionally, appropriately, and in a timely manner as per specified CBI Home Health standards and contractual obligations.
  • Works with an awareness of health and safety and cooperate towards improved health and safety conditions at work.
  • Knowledge of and adheres to the formal and informal departmental goals, standards and policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting/standing for extended periods of time for training.
  • Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
