Company Description Black Donors Save Lives (BDSL) is a federal nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing racial disparities within blood, stem cell, organ, and tissue donor pools. The organization focuses on improving outcomes for patients from African, Caribbean, and Black (ACB) communities who are often underrepresented in donor registries. BDSL works with partners, healthcare providers, and community groups to raise awareness and increase donor participation. Role Description The Impact & Data Coordinator (Volunteer) is a remote position responsible for supporting BDSL’s mission through careful tracking and analysis of program activities and outcomes. In this role, the coordinator gathers and organizes data related to outreach events, donor registrations, and community impact, ensuring information is accurate and up to date. The coordinator assists in creating basic reports, dashboards, and summaries that help the team understand trends, measure progress, and improve initiatives. Day-to-day tasks include collecting data from internal systems and partners, cleaning and validating datasets, documenting methodologies, and contributing to impact stories and presentations for stakeholders. This volunteer role collaborates with staff and volunteers across the organization to strengthen decision-making and demonstrate the effectiveness of BDSL’s work. Qualifications Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis and data analytics. Ability to manage and organize datasets, with practical data management capabilities. Effective communication skills, including the ability to present data findings clearly to diverse audiences. Comfort with basic tools such as spreadsheets and data visualization or reporting software. Attention to detail, accuracy in handling data, and respect for confidentiality and ethical data use. Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time, and meet agreed timelines. Interest in health equity, community impact, and issues affecting African, Caribbean, and Black communities. Prior experience in impact measurement, program evaluation, or nonprofit work is an asset but not required.
