Role Description
The Product Manager will oversee the development and continuous improvement of Indigenous Energy Monitor’s market intelligence platform in a part-time, remote capacity. This role includes defining product vision and roadmap, translating stakeholder needs into clear requirements, and prioritizing features that deliver value to Indigenous communities and sector partners. The Product Manager will coordinate with data, research, and technology teams to plan releases, manage backlogs, and ensure timely delivery of enhancements. They will analyze user feedback and product usage data, identify opportunities for improvement, and support go-to-market activities such as documentation, feature announcements, and stakeholder demonstrations. The position requires regular collaboration with internal and external partners, clear communication of product decisions, and alignment of product outcomes with the organization’s mission.
Qualifications
Product management skills, including roadmap planning, requirements gathering, backlog prioritization, and coordination with cross-functional teams. Analytical and research capabilities, such as interpreting data and user feedback, assessing market trends, and supporting evidence-based product decisions. Communication and collaboration skills, including clear written and verbal communication, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to present product concepts to diverse audiences. Experience with digital platforms or SaaS products, including basic familiarity with UX principles, product metrics, and iterative improvement processes. Understanding of or strong interest in Indigenous participation in energy and resource sectors, and comfort working in a mission-driven, impact-focused environment. Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time hours effectively, and adapt to evolving priorities in a growing organization. Relevant education or professional background in product management, business, technology, data, or related fields; experience in energy, Indigenous relations, or public policy is an asset.
