About the Role

TheResort Chefleads the food and beverage program and staff kitchen at Moutcha Bay Resort, overseeing culinary operations, menu execution, team leadership, and departmental standards. The role ensures high-quality food production, safety compliance, and exceptional guest service while managing kitchen staff and resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare menu items efficiently and set up/stock stations with required supplies.
  • Lead and manage kitchen staff, including onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance monitoring.
  • Oversee daily culinary operations and ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation.
  • Maintain sanitation, food safety, and VIHA compliance, including labeling and proper storage.
  • Manage departmental workflow, inventories, purchasing, payroll submission, and seasonal opening/closing.
  • Support food cost targets by reducing waste and following standards and portion control.
  • Respond to guest concerns professionally and promote upscale service experiences.
  • Coordinate with other departments and leadership to support smooth resort operations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Red Seal certification or equivalent
  • Excellent kitchen management and leadership skills
  • Computer literacy including a strong grasp of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Food Safe Level 1
  • WHMIS certification

Preferred

  • OFA1 (Occupational First Aid Level 1)
