Description The Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization (VIDO), Canada’s Centre for Pandemic Research, is a global leader in infectious disease research and vaccine development for humans and animals. Located at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, VIDO houses one of the world’s largest and most advanced containment level 3 facilities. As part of our commitment to pandemic preparedness, we are expanding our infrastructure to include containment level 4 capacity, a GMP vaccine manufacturing facility, and a new animal housing facility. Our One Health approach enables us to study emerging diseases in any animal model to prevent infectious threats to both humans and animals.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our growing team. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates with 1–3 years of HR experience who are passionate about people, culture, and organizational development. You will support a variety of HR functions and play a key role in fostering a positive and inclusive workplace.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support generalist HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and offboarding.
  • Maintain confidential HR records and databases.
  • Help ensure policies and procedures are up-to-date and compliant.
  • Provide timely guidance on HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Assist in monitoring legislative and industry requirements related to employment standards and health and safety.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree, preferably in Human Resources or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a human resources role.
  • Solid understanding of HR principles, best practices, and relevant employment legislation.

Status: Permanent

Employment Group: Non-Union

Shift: Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours per day (37.5 hours per week)

Full Time Equivalent (FTE): 1.0

Salary Range: $53,000 – $68,000
