**ACCOUNTABLE TO:**Early Learning and Child Care Manager/Director of Early Learning and Child Care
Brief Overview:
The ELCC Case Worker – Let’s Soar plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high‑quality, culturally grounded early learning and childcare services for Métis families. Working closely with the ELCC Let’s Soar Program Coordinator, this position ensures clients receive timely, effective, and respectful support. The Case Worker is responsible for maintaining an active caseload, completing eligibility reviews, coordinating external services, and assisting in the development and continuous improvement of ELCC programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management & Citizen Support
- Manage day‑to‑day activities for an assigned caseload, including application intake, research, eligibility review, approvals, payments, and follow‑up.
- Maintain regular communication with families to monitor progress, identify needs, and ensure supports are delivered effectively.
- Gather information from multiple sources such as families, service providers, and community partners to support thorough case assessment and informed decision‑making.
- Investigate and research diagnoses, relevant therapeutic supports, and community resources applicable to each case.
- Ensure all decisions align with MN–S policies, program guidelines, and eligibility criteria.
Program Coordination & Administration
- Support the ELCC Program Coordinator with the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of new and existing programs.
- Assist in the coordination and processing of financial and administrative tasks, such as purchase orders, expense claims, bill‑back submissions, and purchase‑card reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate, confidential filing systems and ensure documentation meets quality and compliance standards.
- Prepare, track, and organize project statistics, spreadsheets, and supporting documents.
Stakeholder Engagement & Outreach
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Métis Citizens, MN–S staff, ELCC partners, and community service providers.
- Support outreach activities and represent MN–S at meetings, workshops, conferences, and community events as directed.
- Promote Métis culture and values in all interactions and program activities.
Additional Duties
- Use office software and digital tools to communicate, collaborate, and maintain accurate case documentation.
- Provide support to internal teams as needed and participate in cross‑departmental initiatives.
- Travel within Saskatchewan may be required; occasional extended hours may be necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain program guidelines and support options to families and stakeholders.
- Excellent administrative, analytical, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of early childhood education, developmental needs, therapeutic supports, and provincial policies is considered an asset.
- Experience with program administration, financial processes, planning, and coordination.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain discretion, and manage sensitive information.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), databases, and digital communication tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and confidence making decisions within set procedures.
- Experience working with Métis families or Indigenous communities is a strong asset.
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel when required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Post secondary education in Early Childhood Education, Social Sciences, Indigenous Studies, Human Services, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Experience supporting children with developmental, physical, or learning disabilities and a commitment to strengths based, inclusive care.
- Experience in case management, budgeting, program delivery, and reporting—preferably within a non profit or community based setting.
Additional requirements:
- Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and access reliable transportation
- Must undergo a Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector
