Bow Valley College is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Development Officer, Corporate and Foundation Giving to support corporate and foundation fundraising efforts that advance student success and institutional priorities. Reporting to the Manager, Fundraising and Alumni Engagement, this role works collaboratively with the fundraising and alumni engagement team to support, secure and steward corporate gifts, foundation grants, sponsorships, and affinity partnerships.

Foundation and Corporate Giving, Sponsorship and Affinity Partnership

  • Cultivate and secure corporate gifts, sponsorships, and grants (generally under $10,000) that support College programs, events, and student initiatives.

  • Prepare tailored proposals, benefit packages, and marketing materials that align with College priorities and funder interests.

  • Support the negotiation and management of sponsorship agreements and philanthropic commitments.

  • Collaborate with the Lead, Alumni Engagement to expand alumni affinity partnerships that strengthen alumni engagement and generate sustainable revenue to support programming.

  • Assist with the implementation of reporting tools to evaluate donor/sponsor return on investment and track impact to support renewals and long-term relationships.

Partner Engagement and Fulfillment

  • Support the fulfillment and stewardship of philanthropic gifts, grants, sponsorships, and affinity partnerships, ensuring deliverables are met.

  • Serve as a contact for donors, sponsors and grantors for communications, and impact reporting.

  • Implement tools to measure and report return on investment for sponsors and partners, and use insights to support renewals and strengthen long-term relationships.

  • Work with College partners to ensure successful delivery of funder commitments.

  • Collaborate with the Donor Relations team to align fulfillment activities with overall donor relations and stewardship activities.

Database and Administration

  • Assist with planning and forecasting for the sponsorship and affinity portfolios to meet revenue targets.

  • Conduct prospecting activities to identify and qualify potential funders, and maintain accurate records through the Prospect Management System, including contact reports and proposal tracking.

  • Contribute to shared grants calendar to ensure timely submission of applications, interim and final reports, and renewals.

  • Support consistent processes that promote accuracy, compliance, and alignment with funder and partner requirements.

Event, Project and Volunteer Management

  • Collaborate with internal partners to coordinate portfolio initiatives such donor cheque presentations, lunches and reporting.

  • Support departmental and Bow Valley College related activities, events and fundraising initiatives including Celebrating Student Futures (Awards Ceremony), Premier’s Scholarship Luncheon, campus tours, and other institutional wide initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree (preferably in business administration, non-profit management, public relations, or communications).

  • 3–5 years of experience in sales, sponsorship, or fundraising (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advancement database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Solid business acumen and familiarity with Calgary’s business and philanthropic community.

  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, sponsorship, or sales.
