About the role
Insight Global is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer (specializing in Java and Workday Integrations) to join a high-performing team building modern, scalable software solutions for leading North American organizations. This is a fully remote role, open to candidates located anywhere in Canada.
If you are a creative, self‑motivated engineer with strong user‑centric problem‑solving skills and a passion for building high‑quality software across web, mobile, and cloud platforms, this opportunity is an excellent fit. We’re looking for a seasoned technical leader with deep experience in backend and frontend development, data engineering, cloud technologies, and Workday integrations, as well as strong collaboration and communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate needs into technical solutions, and deliver high‑quality outcomes. Design and implement backend services using Java, Spring, and AWS. Develop backend solutions using Node.js (Nest.js) and TypeScript. Build frontend functionality with TypeScript and React. Design and develop new extensions and integrations within the Workday ecosystem. Prepare business requirement documents, configuration documentation, and process flows. Ensure delivery of fair and high‑quality outcomes for customers while maintaining strong technical and compliance standards. Support teammates, partners, and key project stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline. 6+ years of professional software development experience. 5+ years of experience with Java. 3+ years of hands‑on experience with TypeScript. 3+ years working with AWS cloud services. 3+ years of experience implementing Workday integrations. 1+ year of expertise with Workday HR modules. Experience collaborating directly with clients and stakeholders to shape requirements. Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
Additional Qualifications Experience with: Workday Extend Workday Prism Analytics Workday Studio Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) Database experience with SQL and NoSQL systems. Machine learning exposure, including: Python MCP Bedrock PyTorch LangChain
