SUMMARY OF ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Providence Living is a non-profit Catholic-sponsored health care organization focused on long-term care,
assisted living, housing, and other community services to support seniors and their family members. We are
committed to re-imagining the experience of seniors, especially those living with dementia, and to creating
communities and fostering a culture where seniors are empowered to make decisions that affect their
quality of life.
Reporting to the IMIT Manager, the IMIT Specialist works together with Providence Living’s service
provider and vendors to develop and implement SharePoint and other digital solutions, overseeing
projects to enhance Providence Living’s operational capabilities. Ensures projects are delivered on time
and within budget through effective communication, issue identification and possible risk
mitigation strategies. Monitors systems, provides issues resolution and ensures performance optimization.
Identifies opportunities to automate and continually improve processes, facilitate digital transformations,
and improve business workflows through technology. Develops training materials, supports policy
enhancements, and collaborates on network upgrades to ensure data security and system integrity.
All staff have a part to play in preventing adverse events and in promoting safety for resident and staff by
being aware of and adhering to all policies and procedures including promptly reporting any risks or safety
concerns relating to resident or staff safety.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Works internally with PL operations and management and externally with application service providers, consultants and subject matter experts to develop, integrate and maintain SharePoint solutions built to deliver availability, reliability and scalability for PL’s current and growing requirements. This includes but is not limited to the following:
- administering and configuring SharePoint environments and coordinating the migration of data and workflows into SharePoint;
- working with application service providers and consultants to develop and maintain architecture, frameworks and standards, and documentation for data, content and service management;
- analyzing current systems, performing user requirement analyses and collaborating with users to identify solutions to effectively address business needs and enhance the user experience;
- reviewing and mapping existing information workflows and recommending and developing key process and business automation improvements for the Cloud environment.

Takes the lead on assigned project activities and timelines to help ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget by communicating effectively with interested parties at all levels, providing regular project updates and reports, and identifying issues and risks and possible mitigation strategies to minimize delays and ensure successful pilots and implementations. Provides supervision to assigned resources.

Responsible for system monitoring and performance, issue resolution and technical support including:
- acting as the primary point of contact for identifying and resolving technical issues, coordinates with IT support company to expedite solutions, ensure user issues are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner, and promptly communicates any service disruptions to staff;
- regularly monitoring system performance and performance of network infrastructure components to ensure optimal operation and respond to and help resolve issues;
- developing and maintaining a knowledge database of recurring technical issues along with their resolutions, and participating in the investigation of underlying causes to prevent future occurrences.

Develops engaging, informative and user-centric materials and conducts training sessions to help ensure employees are proficient and comfortable using existing and new technology tools and platforms. Provides ongoing mentoring and support, sharing knowledge to ensure high adoption of emerging technology and a positive user experience.

Serves as a technical lead to facilitate digital transformation by working with PL operations and management to review existing workflows and identify and evaluate opportunities for improving business processes through technology, collaborating with the various departments to define and implement digital strategies to enhance productivity and client care, and staying abreast of emerging technologies and trends in digital transformation and recommending their application to PL, where beneficial.

Prepares detailed plans for network and telecommunications infrastructure enhancements including evidence-based justifications for upgrades. In collaboration with the IMIT Manager, obtains cost estimates for technology solutions and works with vendors on procurement of upgrades or new technologies including obtaining demo equipment and software.

Supports the establishment and continuous improvement of IMIT policies and procedures, working with application service providers to ensure robust data security and compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks. Works collaboratively across departments to maintain the integrity of information management systems. Manages and optimizes digital tools, platforms and processes to ensure smooth workflows.

Travel to other sites within BC as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and Experience
Completion of a Diploma in Computer Science and three (3) to five (5) years of recent, related project experience evaluating, designing and implementing transformational digital solutions to support a growing organization.
Also requires experience with the Microsoft Enterprise suite of server technologies including but not limited to MS365, Active Directory, Exchange, Skype for Business, System Center Suite, Hyper-V, Azure, ADFS, etc., or additional certifications for Microsoft 365 or Azure and Amazon AWS or Google Compute. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of design and administration of SharePoint environments including integrating SharePoint with Active Directory, leveraging Azure technologies for Microsoft 365 applications, managing hybrid identities via Azure Active Director, developing workflows in Microsoft 365, and the understanding of departmental functions and requirements to tailor IT solutions effectively.
- Knowledge of modern IT infrastructure and security, network and server technologies, identity management and security across both on-premises and cloud platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues through effective collaboration with internal resources and external technical experts.
- Skilled in customizing, testing and implementing updates and enhancements to various business software applications.
- Demonstrated sense of responsibility and end-user focus, coupled with the capacity to effectively manage priorities and deliver prompt responses in high-stress situations.
