The Software Verification Team is seeking a DevOps and Cybersecurity Team Lead to lead the building and distribution of Kardium’s flagship software. The DevOps and Cybersecurity Team Lead has a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and security of our software development lifecycle, particularly within our regulated medical device environment. Your expertise will bridge the gap between development and operations, with a strong emphasis on building and maintaining the essential tools that empower our engineering teams and ensuring our CI infrastructure is protected from potential cyber threats.
Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.
Meaningful work you will be a part of
- Designing, implementing, and managing our locally hosted Windows-based Continuous Integration (CI) system and the supporting infrastructure.
- Maintaining the CI system documentation.
- Collaborating with CI users to help optimize their PR workflows and provide training and support.
- Supporting Globe Software development, automated testing and release processes.
- Working with our IT department to optimally manage and secure our computers and network.
- Support Patches to various activities to external teams such as Clinical Ops and Research Teams.
- Supporting security patching of the build and test infrastructure along with our commercial workstations.
- Leading efforts to perform security testing, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing and coordinate with external labs to perform independent cybersecurity verification, if needed.
- Participate in design and requirement reviews to ensure that our cybersecurity adherence to applicable standards and regulations (e.g., IEC 62443, FDA, ISO/IEC 27001, NIST).
- Stay up to date with changes in cybersecurity regulations, standards, and best practices, ensuring the company’s products remain compliant.
- Provide mentorship to team members.

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree
- Proficiency with Java or Kotlin, and Python.
- Proficiency in designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines within a Windows environment using tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Practical knowledge of medical device cybersecurity regulations and industry standards (FDA, IEC 62443, ISO 14971, etc.).
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Flexible and adaptable to take on additional responsibilities as appropriate
Compensation
Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.
As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.
- $120,000 – $148,000 (CAD Annually)
