The Role

Under the direction of the Fleet Superintendent, this position is responsible for preventative maintenance including inspecting and conducting repairs of vehicles to manufacturer MTO and/or CVOR requirements; troubleshooting and repairs to service vehicles; fabrication and welding repairs; decal installation and light body repairs; vehicle certification; and administrative duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Valid Class G Licence with an abstract acceptable to City guidelines
  • 310T Mechanic’s Licence; 310S Licence would be considered an asset
  • Familiar with OTC, Snap ON and heavy duty trucks
  • Ozone Depletion Prevention Card to be obtained within the first 6 months of employment
  • Propane Certificate (ICE-P) would be considered an asset
  • Must be competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Highway Traffic Act
