Job Summary
The Safety Telematics Coordinator supports OSCO’s safety team by overseeing key aspects of fleet telematics system, monitoring driver compliance, and safety-related administration. This role plays an important part in promoting a safe, compliant, and well-supported fleet operation and contributes directly to OSCO’s strong safety culture.
The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, highly organized, and experienced with digital systems and safety databases. They will work closely with drivers, supervisors, and the safety team, and must bring a professional, coaching‑focused approach to supporting safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the in‑vehicle monitoring and telematics system.
- Review telematics data and video footage related to safety events.
- Coach drivers on safe driving practices and compliance expectations.
- Maintain accurate driver records, including licenses, abstracts, incident records and related documentation.
- Monitor driver compliance and follow up on identified safety concerns.
- Collaborate with supervisors and drivers to resolve safety issues and support corrective actions.
- Prepare safety, compliance, and telematics reports for internal review.
- Provide general administrative support to the safety team as assigned.
- All other duties as assigned.
Technical Requirements
- Post ‑ secondary education in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in administrative, safety, or transportation ‑ focused roles; experience in safety, fleet, compliance, or administrative positions is considered an asset.
- Minimum 3 years in fleet, transportation safety, or related safety roles
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn new platforms such as telematics or in ‑ vehicle monitoring systems.
- Ability to learn and manage safety databases and digital repositories (e.g., SharePoint)
Business Requirements
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate, confidential records and manage multiple tasks in a structured environment.
- Willingness to coach and follow up on safety or compliance matters with support from the safety team.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to review information, identify trends or concerns, and document findings clearly and accurately.
- Professional communication skills, with the ability to interact respectfully and effectively with drivers, supervisors, and team members.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
