Description

Background Information:

These are Sr. Systems Testing/QA Specialist roles that will augment the existing team/s working on a number of OLIS related projects underway within the Agency. Some of the projects the resources would be working on include OLIS-MORE, OLIS integration releases, OLIS Hub and Console or other new initiatives under the Lab digitization portfolio.

Must haves:

  • Minimum 6 to 8 years' experience testing and automating applications within electronic health-related projects, ideally with experience testing clinical software systems
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Lab Information System (OLIS), OLIS Mobile Order and Results Entry (OLIS-MORE) application, Lab Information Systems (LIS's) deployed within the Province of Ontario, Provincial Client Registry (PCR), and Provincial Viewer.
  • Hands-on experience with UI and Web Services automation tools such as SOAPUI, Selenium, Selenium WebDriver, JIRA, Dexter, Data Driven automated testing
  • Experience working with ORACLE, ETL, SQL databases and queries
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with HL7 messages and data structures
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) messages and data structures
  • Experience with testing RESTful APIs
  • Experience with testing system accesses based on OAuth authentication/authorization and JWT tokens
  • Experience working in Agile-Scrum environment, test planning, test case writing, test case execution, test reporting, manual and automated testing
  • Knowledgeable in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deliver (CI/CD) – Jenkins, Maven, GitLab

Responsibilities:

As a member of the Quality Assurance Testing Team in the role of Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist, you will be required to:

  • Contribute towards development of testing strategy, test plans, the selection of testing tools, and the identification of resources required for testing
  • Provide test estimates to Test lead for assigned testing tasks
  • Execute functional & system integration testing for UI and backend systems, connectivity/error handling testing, and other test types as defined in the test strategy/plan.
  • Develop automated test scripts and test data and integrate into automated test suite
  • Develop test plans, test scripts and test cases and execute these against the various components.
  • Work with the testing lead and IT lead of each project as well as the project team members in the analysis, design, development, implementation and ongoing support of the required systems

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience in at least one programming language
  • Knowledge and understanding of testing methods in an object-oriented environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards
  • Experience planning and organizing testing efforts for both large and small systems
  • Experience coding automated test scripts to produce sets of automated test cases
  • Knowledge of structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applications
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of automated test tools and version control systems on one or more platforms
  • Experience executing functional tests, non-functional tests and systems level integration tests
  • Experience supporting user acceptance testing and participating in UAT activities
  • Experience with quality assurance principles, practices, tools and structured methodologies
  • Experience creating testing strategy documentation, test plans, test cases and test data for various types and phases of testing, including technical and business functional validation
  • Knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; organizational, creativity and perseverance skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skills
  • A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
  • Knowledge of one or more automated testing tools

Required Experience / Evaluation Criteria:

  • Minimum 6 to 8 years' experience manual testing and automating applications within electronic health-related projects, ideally with experience testing clinical software. 20 Points
  • Knowledge of Ontario Lab Information System (OLIS), general knowledge of the OLIS Mobile Order and Results Entry (OLIS-MORE) application, knowledge of Lab Information Systems (LIS's) deployed within the Province of Ontario and general knowledge of Provincial Client Registry. 10 Points
  • Hands-on experience with UI and Web Services automation tools such as SOAPUI, Dexter, Selenium, Selenium WebDriver, JIRA, Data Driven automated testing . 30 points
  • Experience in working with and testing with ORACLE, SQL, REDIS databases. This includes creating test data and queries. 10 Points
  • Knowledge and hands-on testing experience with HL7 messages and data structures. 10 Points
  • Knowledge and hands-on testing experience with FHIR messages and data. 10 Points
  • Experience testing with testing RESTful APIs . 5 Points
  • Experience with testing system accesses based on OAuth V.2 Authentication/authorization and JWT. 5 Points

Total Evaluation Criteria : 100 Points

Deliverables

Deliverables Include:

  • Review of solution design and requirements to provide input on test effort estimation
  • Traceability matrix covering all requirements in project scope
  • High level test scenarios and detailed test cases
  • Test data as per test scenarios
  • Automated test script creation
  • Test execution, issue escalation and defect management
  • Test reports

Knowledge Transfer Details:

  • The resource will ensure full knowledge transfer is provided to the Ontario Health team before end of engagement. Some of this might occur at the end of the engagement but will also be shared as information is obtained/consolidated. Key deliverables will be shared with team.
  • The resource must provide all related documentation as part of knowledge transfer protocol. Documents will be reviewed by the appropriate leads and signed off by manager/director.
  • The resource will work collaboratively with the Ontario Health team throughout the assignment and ensure key deliverables, milestones, and documentation are shared.
  • A walkthrough of any demos, development, etc. will be required before the end of the engagement.

Must Haves:

  • 2-3 years experience HL7
  • 2-3 years experience FHIR
  • 2-3 years experience Automation (including Selenium, Selenium WebDriver, Dexter, Data Driven automated testing)
  • 2-3 years experience Experience working with ORACLE, SQL databases and queries
  • Minimum 6 to 8 years' experience testing and automating applications within electronic health-related projects, ideally with experience testing clinical software systems
