Role Objectives
The Data Centre Critical Facilities Technician (Building Operator) is responsible for the hands-on maintenance, monitoring, and operational support of the mission-critical infrastructure in a 24/7 data centre environment. This role is a full-time, rotational shift position providing 24x7x365 with the requirement to work overtime as needed.
Responsibilities

Monitor the overall facility via the Building Automation System (BAS) and ensure all critical systems are operating within established parameters.

Respond immediately to all alarm conditions, taking appropriate corrective actions and escalating to senior management as per defined process.

Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on critical infrastructure, including electrical distribution, generators, UPS systems, and various cooling systems
-
Execute work safely and efficiently, strictly following MOPs and SOPs for all procedures.

Oversee all contractors, ensuring strict adherence to site security procedures and safety rules.

Perform daily physical rounds and inspections of the data centre and equipment, completing a detailed report of all issues observed

Perform other duties as assigned
Candidate Requirements

Please note: A criminal record check will be required for successful candidates.

Experience (3+ years) in facilities maintenance and operations, preferably in a data centre, hospital, or other critical 24/7 environment
-
A high school diploma with completion of a technical training program or a recognized apprenticeship program in a maintenance trade.

Preference: Licensed Journeyman Electrician, Licensed/Certified Refrigeration and Air Conditioning System Mechanic, or Certified Building Operator (or equivalent)

Technical knowledge of: High/Low Voltage Electrical Distribution, various Building Cooling Systems, and Security/Fire Alarm/BAS systems

This role requires flexibility to work holidays and overtime as needed.
- This is a rotation shift position providing 24x7x365 coverage days and nights.
- The work schedule will be 12-hour shift on a 4 days on/4 days off rotation.
- Rotation Schedule is posted for the entire calendar year.
