Lora Bay is seeking friendly and welcoming Hosts to join our Food & Beverage team in Thornbury.
Greeting guests cordially and courteously, escorting them to their table displaying a genuine welcome and interest in their dining experience is critical in this role. Providing efficient and attentive service and ensuring guest satisfaction.
Full-time and part-time positions are available starting from May through October.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interact professionally with all resort guests and co-workers.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and hygiene in accordance with company policy.
- Maintain service standards as set out by departmental Training Manual.
- Complete all work as directed by members of the Food & Beverage management team, and other duties as assigned.
- To work calmly and efficiently while promoting positive relations with related departments.
- Work in both a safe manner and in a safe environment, as set out by company policy and Workplace Health & Safety statutory requirements.
- Positively promote departmental and resort special events and activities.
- Carry out duties within the general scope of the position and follow all departmental and club policies.
- Ask for assistance should you find yourself unable to meet the department’s standards of service due to business volumes.
- Report and rectify any guest concerns or complaints. Ensure that all reasonable guest requests are completed or followed through for completion.
- Must be able to empower oneself with colleagues to ensure questionable or insufficient product that does not meet departmental standards is corrected before service.
- Ensure that your stations are kept clean and clear at all times.
- Ensure that all side duties and proper levels of mis en place are completed for the next shift.
- Report any questionable misconduct or behaviour to your supervisor immediately.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in casual fine dining is an asset.
- High school-level English communication skills.
- Smart Serve certification is an asset.
- Food Handler certification is an asset.
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
Work Arrangement:
- Work both indoors and outdoors during spring, summer, and fall weather conditions, including on the covered patio, dining room and conference rooms.
- Moving furniture when preparing special arrangements.
- Walking, bending, and carrying glassware, plates, glass racks, large platters, and chafing dishes.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Extended periods of standing.
- Must be willing to work varied shifts, including, mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation:
- Pay: $17.60 per hour
