Summary of responsibilities:
TheSenior Advisor/Data Scientist, Advanced Analyticsis responsible for designing, developing and implementing quantitative methodologies, models and solutions to enhance operational performance and support decision-making. The incumbent is also responsible for data management and analysis of operations data systems. The Senior Advisor/ Data Scientist, Advanced Analytics performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.
What you need to succeed
To qualify for the position, you must have:
- Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science or another specialty related to the duties of the position.
- A minimum of six (6) years of experience developing machine learning and predictive models using mathematical programming languages such as SAS, R or Python.
- Experience developing and operationalizing analytical and artificial intelligence models using cloud-based analytics platforms and services (e.g. Azure)
- Experience developing reproducible models and evaluation, training, and monitoring pipelines.
- Experience with several of the following analytical and artificial intelligence methodologies: machine learning, natural language processing, mathematical programming, data mining, discrete event simulation, stochastic modeling.
- Knowledge of mathematical and statistical theory and application.
- Demonstrated experience conducting investigations into data discrepancies.
- Demonstrated experience in an advisory role and providing recommendations to management.
- Experience developing and delivering presentations that synthesize findings in a business context.

- Knowledge of CATSA's mandate and priorities, as well as an awareness of relevant legislation impacting CATSA.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience managing projects or studies.
Specific work requirements:
- Language Profile: English Essential;
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; and
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
