Technical Sales Representative – Western Canada
About Our Client Our client is a well-established manufacturer of industrial valve, actuation, and flow-control solutions serving the oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, pipeline, and industrial sectors. With significant growth plans across Canada and the United States, they are seeking a seasoned technical sales professional to drive business development and strengthen customer relationships throughout Western Canada.
Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a territory growth strategy across Western Canada, with a primary focus on Alberta. Build and maintain relationships with end users, EPCs, engineering firms, distributors, and industrial customers. Identify and secure new business opportunities while expanding existing accounts. Promote and provide technical support for valves, actuators, automation packages, and severe service valve solutions. Conduct regular customer visits and maintain a strong market presence throughout the territory. Manage project opportunities from specification through award and execution. Collaborate with inside sales and technical teams to ensure exceptional customer support. Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and pipeline reporting. Provide regular updates to leadership through structured communication and weekly reporting. Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity.
Qualifications 7+ years of industrial technical sales experience, with valve and actuation experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of industrial valves, automation products, and flow-control solutions. Proven success in business development, territory management, and account growth. Experience selling into the oil & gas, petrochemical, pipeline, power generation, or industrial sectors. Professional, dependable, self-motivated, and capable of operating independently within a large territory.
Compensation, Benefits & Additional Information Base salary: $115,000 – $140,000, depending on experience. Competitive commission/incentive program. Car allowance, fuel allowance, and client entertainment allowance. Comprehensive Sun Life benefits package, including dental, massage, and physiotherapy coverage. 3-4 weeks of vacation and 5 paid sick days. Remote-based position with significant travel throughout Western Canada. Reporting to the North American Sales Manager
