Job Description

We have an existing opportunity to add an Environmental Engineer/Geoscientist to join our team in Halifax. You will work in a Hybrid based environment supporting field requests within the Halifax and surrounding area.

The successful candidate will be able to review and sign-off on technical reports, direct the site activities of field staff, and liaise directly with clients on a file-by-file basis. They will also be responsible for completing hydrogeological and environmental site investigations and oversight of remediation activities, primarily on environmental spills and contaminated sites. The position requires that the candidate work in cooperation with project managers across the country and assist field staff to problem solve and maintain the highest level of professional standards. The successful candidate will accept responsibility for the overall quality of remedial work completed by field staff and will provide mentorship for junior staff.

Responsibilities

Work with the Director and management to create and enhance Pario’s strategic plan Translate the strategic plan into a vision and plan for implementation Lead and champion change Mentor, inspire and challenge field and mid-management staff to meet their full potential Maintain strong relationship with clients Build and execute strategic account penetration plans Ensure customer relationship management by establishing ongoing communication, customer satisfaction and face-to-face interaction Review and direct that activities of field staff Sign-off on all geotechnical reports to clients and regulators Undertake peer review of competitor’s reports and projects as requested by our clients

Requirements

Environmental Science, Geology, Geological Engineering or Environmental Engineering Degree from a recognized university, or equivalent Minimum 5 years of related operational experience preferred 3+ years insurance industry experience an asset Valid driver’s license Excellent report writing abilities Proficiencies with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Provides accurate information and creative solutions for customers while taking ownership of decisions Honor commitments and promises, maintain confidentiality, and has high standards of integrity Enthusiastic and positive, which influences and energizes the team Works collaboratively with others to achieve goals A willingness to travel within the assigned region and flexible work schedule when required
