12 months contract 100% remote work Job Description We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Cloud Architect with expertise in Azure & Oracle Cloud to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare IT systems and solutions, with a proven track record of designing complex architectures for cloud-based (primarily Azure) solutions.
This role demands a deep understanding of Public Cloud Platforms, particularly Azure, and a solid grounding in Health-compliant network designs.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead the design and provide implementation oversight of complex cloud-based, on-premises and hybrid cloud solutions, primarily Microsoft Azure and Oracle cloud technologies as well as other relevant platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS).
- Design secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud and on-premises architectures while ensuring compliance with healthcare industry regulations such as PHIPA, HIPAA and other relevant healthcare standards
- Guide teams in developing solutions that optimize cloud resources, improve system performance, and reduce costs
- Develop architecture blueprints, strategies, and roadmaps
- Mentor junior architects and other technical staff, providing guidance on architectural design, best practices, and industry trends
- Lead migration projects from legacy systems (infrastructure & applications) to modern cloud-based solutions in the healthcare environment
- Stay up to date with the latest trends in cloud computing, healthcare technology and regulations, ensuring solutions delivered are innovative and compliant
Qualifications: Required Work Experience
- 12+ years of general Information Technology experience
- 7-10 years of deep experience in Cloud architecture, demonstrating an expert level knowledge of broader solutioning architecture skills
- At least 5+ years of experience in the healthcare industry
- Strong knowledge of design and architectural patterns, IT standards and policies
- In-depth understanding of cloud security principles and best practices, particularly in a healthcare context
- Deep experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), including Azure Active Directory, Azure Storage, and Azure Networking
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure components, virtualization technologies, middleware / SOA and SaaS/PaaS/IaaS solutions, as well as public, private and multi-cloud contexts
- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, and other data exchange formats
- Deep understanding of healthcare data analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives
- Proven experience in architecting and implementing hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructures/environments
- Strong expertise cloud platform networking for example, with Azure, Oracle and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (e.g., VPCs, Shared VPC, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud VPN, Cloud NAT, Network Intelligence Center)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Deployment Manager) for network automation
Preferred Work Experience:
- Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and hybrid cloud environments
- Experience in architecting enterprise level Cloud solutions for the healthcare industry
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO, SOC2, HIPAA) in relation to Cloud security and architecture
- Proven expertise in Oracle technologies, including Oracle Cloud and integration with other platforms
- Experience with cloud migration strategies and working with cloud-native technologies (containers, orchestration tools, etc.) to achieve modularity, scalability, and agility in cloud-native applications, enabling efficient resource utilization and rapid deployment.
- Strong background in designing solutions for scalability, performance, and availability in cloud environments
- Experience in AI/ML, GENAI solutions using Azure and/or GCP tools/technologies
- Varied knowledge of COTS applications, with a focus on the Cloud space
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field/equivalent experience
Certification
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- TOGAF certification
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Health Data Services
- Oracle Certified Architect (Oracle Cloud certifications)
- Google Cloud Certified: Professional Cloud Architect | Healthcare API Specialist
- AI/ML and any other professional training courses in Architecture or Technologies are highly desirable
