Sr Accountant

Mississauga, ON / Full Time - Hybrid (On Contract) Pay rate $75,855 - $101,140 Your responsibilities

Responsible for general accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting and financial activities of the company.

• Manage monthly closing within scheduled timelines
• Create chart of accounts updates including financial statement roll up categorization
• Approve and/or prepare journal entries
• Prepare monthly provision overview and annual roll-forward
• Assist in preparation of balance sheet, income statement and cash flow in accordance with company policy/guidelines, following the IFRS accounting standards
• Prepare and/or review cash flow projection
• Create balance sheet account analysis, bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations and some income statement account reconciliations
• Create income tax and sales tax data schedules
• Complete various government reporting requirements e.g. Statistics Canada, Tax Authorities, etc.
• Assist with the annual planning process
• Serve as liaison for external audits
• Assist in updating and define accounting procedures for changes in the reporting structures
• Assist in updating department policies/procedures as necessary
• Assist Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables associates on need basis
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s degree (Accounting) – Required
• Certification (CPA) – Preferred
• 5-7 Years of Experience (Accounting) – Required
• Knowledge of IFRS Accounting standards
• Advanced accounting topics, including corporate taxes, sales taxes, foreign currency, etc.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, computer skills, and organizational skills.
• Detail oriented with good problem solving and decision-making skills
• Able to multitask, work in a fast-paced team environment and adhere to strict deadlines.
• Knowledge of SAP and Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Travel Percentage – 10%
