About Elementiam
We build software that lets industrial robots work on real, variable parts. Using machine learning and 3D vision, our system scans a physical part and automatically generates the robot path to process it no CAD, no manual reprogramming. Our customers use it for demanding surface processes like hardfacing, overlay, welding and finishing in heavy industry and oil & gas. We’re a small, hands-on team building a genuine product, funded by real customer revenue rather than hype. You’d be joining at the point where our core technology becomes a repeatable product a pivotal moment in a fast-growing company, with a level of ownership and technical impact you won’t find at a larger company. As we scale, you’ll help us deploy our technology alongside major players across aerospace, railway, mining, and oil & gas.
The role
You’ll lead the development of our core software as part of a strong engineering team.. Alongside experts in robotics and 3D vision, you’ll focus on the technical heart of the company: the engine that turns 3D scans into robot programs, the layer that talks to the hardware on the shop floor, and the interfaces our customers actually use. Your focus is developing Element X into a robust, production-grade product and building the connective tissue between our software, the PLCs, and the robots.
What you’ll do
Develop and harden Element X into performant, maintainable, production-grade C++ Design and build communication between our software and PLCs (Modbus, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, FTP) Integrate with industrial robots and the scanning hardware in real cells Build user interfaces in Godot for custom customer projects Work directly with customers’ equipment to commission and troubleshoot deployments Help turn today’s custom, per-project work into a configurable, repeatable product
What we’re looking for
This is a software role. What matters is strong software craftsmanship and real experience making computers and industrial hardware talk to each other.
Must-have
Master of Science in computer engineering Strong background in software engineering / software development, ideally in an engineering or industrial context Strong proficiency in C++ software development Preferred 3 years of hands-on experience with computer-to-PLC communication: Modbus, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, FTP Experience working with 3D data, geometry, or machine vision Experience with game engine development such as Godot, Unity,...
Familiarity with industrial robots and how they’re programmed and controlled
Nice to have
Exposure to welding, robotic finishing, or manufacturing automation Point-cloud processing, scan-to-path, or CAM-style toolpath generation Comfort being on-site in a shop/industrial environment during commissioning
Why join
A pivotal role in a growing company: what you build defines where Elementiam goes next A strong team around you: you’ll build alongside experts in robotics and 3D vision — this is a team effort, not a solo mission Work with major players: the chance to deploy alongside leading names across aerospace, railway, mining, and oil & gas Equity potential: as an early team member, there’s the opportunity for share ownership in the company down the road as we grow Impact: your work ships directly to customers, not into a backlog Real product, real revenue: we’re building something customers pay for today
