Title: Email Marketing Co-op Student
Reports to: Manager, Digital Marketing
Type: Full-Time
The opportunity
Are you passionate about digital storytelling and eager to gain hands-on experience in email marketing? Crohn’s and Colitis Canada is looking for a creative and detail-oriented co-op student to support our email marketing efforts. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful campaigns that engage the inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) community while learning from a supportive team in a mission-driven environment. This community includes people living with the disease, their caregivers, donors, volunteers, and healthcare providers.
As part of the Marketing and Communications team, you’ll learn to create and deploy email campaigns that inform, inspire, and drive engagement and revenue. You’ll also learn to execute our bilingual monthly email newsletter, Talk About Guts, and gain exposure to cross-channel digital marketing practices.
This is a student Co-op opportunity for the fall term. Stipend will be provided to the student in this role.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary co-op program in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 is an asset.
- Strong interest in digital marketing, and email marketing.
- Technically savvy.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Self-motivated, curious, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organization, time and project management skills.
- Collaborative and comfortable working both independently and in a team.
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact, Mailchimp, HubSpot, or similar) is an asset.
- Basic understanding of digital marketing metrics and analytics is an asset.
- Interest in health, wellness, or nonprofit communications.
- Knowledge of Canva is an asset.
- French language proficiency a strong asset.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning and execution of email campaigns from concept to deployment, including: donation appeals, event promotion, volunteer communications, as well as donor and research updates.
- Support the creation and deployment of Talk About Guts in English and French on a monthly basis.
- Proofread email content and test links to ensure error-free emails.
- Support list management and segmentation needs for email campaigns.
- Help maintain an email calendar and the seamless integration of creative and messaging with other channels.
- Assist with email analytics reporting to help identify insights for optimization.
