Compensation Details:
- Security Operations 18: Salaries typically range from $96,557 to $128,743 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
Location:
- Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, with a current requirement of twoin-office days per week, increasing to three days per week in September 2026 (subject to change).
- This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa.
- Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team Overview:
The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC:
- Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC’s 2030 business transformation.
- Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organization.
- Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.
- Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences.
The Enterprise Information Security (EIS) team is looking for an experienced resource to perform the role of Senior Identity Platform Engineer to work with EIS leadership, cybersecurity team and key stakeholders to define outcomes, develop tactical plans and security requirements, and lead security projects that address information security risks with a focus on protecting EDC’s digital assets.
Working closely with security and technology leadership, the Senior Identity Platform Engineer plays a key role in designing, operating, and continuously improving the organization’s identity platforms. This role requires technical depth in identity and access management, the ability to assess evolving identity‑related risks, and the agility to adapt controls and services to protect the business.
The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience with identity platforms, directory services, authentication and authorization technologies, and identity lifecycle processes. They demonstrate strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills, a proactive approach to problem‑solving, and the ability to respond effectively to changing business and technical requirements. Because the role collaborates frequently with application teams, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders, excellent communication and listening skills are essential.
What you will be doing:
- Own and evolve the IAM domain roadmap, focusing on IAM, IGA and CIAM capabilities.
- Lead engineering activities for identity platforms, ensuring reliability, operational efficiency, and adherence to SLAs.
- Oversee and guide the implementation of identity controls across applications and infrastructure, applying RBAC, Zero Trust, and secure authentication/authorization patterns.
- Provide architectural and engineering guidance to internal teams and external partners for onboarding, integration, and modernization of identity services.
- Act as the primary point of contact for identity-related initiatives, translating technical requirements into clear, business‑aligned outcomes and KPIs.
- Partner with security operations and incident response teams to support investigations and ensure identity controls are effectively monitored and enforced.
- Contribute to policy, standards, and governance activities related to IAM, IGA, and CIAM.
- Act as a key point of contact with business and technology stakeholders for protecting digital assets program, clarifying security control requirements, defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics aligning with business initiatives and deliver to non-technical teams in terms that are readily comprehensible.
What we are looking for:
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Security, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Approximately 5–7 years of experience in information security or IT with a strong focus on identity and access management.
- At least 3 years of hands‑on experience designing, implementing, or operating IAM/IGA solutions.
- Strong working knowledge of Active Directory, Entra ID, Azure, and B2C identity flows.
- Experience integrating applications with Entra ID B2C, including user journeys and identity provider configurations; experience with custom policies is an asset.
- Familiarity with OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and federation patterns.
- Exposure to identity lifecycle automation, access reviews, and role engineering.
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, RBAC, SSO, MFA, conditional access, and hybrid identity patterns.
- Experience with at least one enterprise IGA platform (SailPoint preferred, but Saviynt or similar acceptable).
- Ability to influence cross functional teams, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and drive initiatives in a complex environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical thinking, and prioritization skills.
What will make you stand out:
- Experience with CyberArk or other PAM solutions (PTA, EPM, AAM) is an advantage but not required.
- Hands-on experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ/IdentityNow or similar IGA platforms (Saviynt, One Identity, Okta).
- Experience with identity lifecycle automation, access reviews, or role modeling.
- Experience working in Agile or DevSecOps environments.
- Knowledge of cloud security concepts in Azure and/or AWS.
- Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, utilities).
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Security+.
- Bilingualism in both official languages (English & French).
