About The Opportunity We’re proactively connecting with skilled Legal Assistants for upcoming contract roles in downtown Ottawa. While there isn’t an immediate opening, we’re building a talent pool for positions we expect to become available soon. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Review, format, and prepare legal documents and correspondence
- Maintain client files and case records (electronic and paper)
- Assist with interpreting and executing requests within legal documents and agreements
- Coordinate schedules, deadlines, and client requests within designated timelines
- Conduct basic legal research and fact-checking as required
- Provide general administrative support to lawyers and the legal team
About You The successful candidate will have the following:
- Post-secondary education in Legal Administration or related field
- Experience in a legal or professional services environment preferred, but not mandatory
- Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with legal or document management systems an asset
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; French is an asset
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality
About the Job The payrate for this position will be between $21.00 to $27.00 per hour, depending on experience.
