Description:
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will support projects that span multiple disciplines within our organization in order to deliver high quality and sustainable solutions to our clients.
Your experience in the industry and/or consulting, as well as your project and people skills will enable you to make a difference in our industry and inspire new and better ways to implement engineering and water management solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee various Civil, Geotechnical and Environmental engineering designs and studies.
- Deliver front-end, preliminary and detailed engineering designs – from stormwater management/reservoirs to large earthen dams, site grading, and underground piping.
- Supervising the development and authenticating, Civil designs, calculations, reports and dam safety-related studies and reports.
- Conduct site visits and inspections as needed, ensuring quality and safety.
- Collaborate across teams to develop project strategies and foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of collaboration and growth.
- Support cost estimates, schedules, and proposals while communicating results effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
Position Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Environmental Engineering.
- 12+ years of consulting or industry, with a focus on, civil earthworks engineering, and exposure to geotechnical analysis/reporting.
- Registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
- Proven leadership, and excellent written/verbal communication.
- Legally able to work in Canada.
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Excellent English communication skills, and experience in preparing and reviewing technical reports.
- Proven leadership, business development and client communication skills.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience within the Mining sector would be considered an asset.
- Experience with Civil earthworks engineering designs related to reservoirs, earthen structures, small and large earthen dams, surface water management, roadways, underground piping, and site grading.
- Experience with stormwater and sanitary sewer designs, surface water management designs and modelling.
- Experience with the preparation of clear and comprehensive engineering design reports, construction execution plans, technical notes and client presentations.
- Experience with geotechnical design and analysis, using slope stability software, is an asset.
- Knowledge of key North American industrial sectors, such as mining or oil and gas an asset.
