Compensation Consultant (6-Month Contract)
Location: Toronto (Hybrid 2x/week in office)
Term: 6 months, Contract

Reports to: Director, Compensation
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Compensation Consultant for a 6-month contract to support our total rewards function during a high impact period. Reporting to the Director, Compensation, you will play a key role in the execution of compensation programs, with a strong focus on merit and bonus cycle support, bonus and incentive modelling, pay transparency frameworks, and manual data collation.
This is a standalone, individual contributor role with no analyst support, ideal for a self-directed and analytical professional who thrives in fast-paced environments. You’ll be deeply involved in cyclical processes and provide essential compensation support to business stakeholders.
What You Will Be Doing
- Support the execution of annual merit and bonus cycles, including data preparation, cycle tracking, and preparation of letters and communication.
- Support bonus modelling, including scenario planning, budget alignment, and preparation of bonus documents.
- Collate, clean, and validate data manually across various sources to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Provide hands-on data analysis and develop insights to support compensation decision-making.
- Support the implementation and refinement of pay transparency practices, including pay bands and internal communications.
- Ensure compliance with internal compensation governance and external pay equity standards.
- Provide input on compensation communications and create education materials.
- Support compensation reporting, and analytics for senior leadership.
- Partner closely with the Director, Compensation to align on priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in Compensation or Total Rewards, with demonstrated experience supporting merit and bonus cycles. Experience working in a high-growth, fast-paced manual environment.
- Strong background in bonus modelling, data manipulation, and compensation analytics.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage high-volume manual data tasks without analyst support.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, data modelling).
- Strong understanding of pay transparency trends and frameworks.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, Finance, or related field.
- CCP designation preferred (or in progress).
- Familiarity with Canadian compensation practices and applicable regulations.
