About KPA Lawyers Professional Corporation
In 2005, KPA’s co-founders, Ryan and Preet, met at the University of Waterloo as teenagers during their undergraduate years. It was from that time that they had a dream of becoming lawyers and building a leading law firm in Ontario. Eventually, Ryan earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor in southwestern Ontario, and Preet earned her LLB from the University of Nottingham in the UK. They were both Called to the Bar in Ontario in 2014.
Fast forward to 2016, Ryan and Preet opened the doors to KPA Lawyers Professional Corporation in Mississauga, which remains the city that KPA calls home to this day. During that time, the firm has been written about by The Huffington Post for its exceptionally competitive wages and innovative approach to business leadership. The firm also experienced meteoric growth in its very early years, building a team of over 10 lawyers quite quickly. Owing to its high quality of services, KPA is among the GTA’s most reviewed (and most well-reviewed) law firms.
KPA LAWYERS IS A FULL-SERVICE LAW FIRM IN ONTARIO, WITH VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN THE PROVINCE. "KPA" MEANS KEENEY, PANNU & ASSOCIATES.
Some of our major areas of practice include civil litigation, family law, real estate, wills & estates, criminal defence, and business law. We employ a team of lawyers who have been featured on Global News, the Toronto Star, CBC News, the Huffington Post, and insauga.com. Our lawyers also appear for weekly guest interviews on News Talk Sauga 960AM.
We represent a diverse range of clients. For example, our firm represented corporate creditors against Target Canada after Target’s widely publicized unsuccessful entry into the Canadian retail market. On the other hand, many of our lawyers assist low-income persons through Legal Aid Ontario’s certificate program.
Our lawyers have also helped shape the law by arguing cases that deal with modern issues, such as our successful appeal of a matter involving WhatsApp and the law of defamation in Ontario. We are also known for successfully fighting for the rights of women, children, and persons with disabilities.
