Position Summary
The Case Worker at the Women’s Emergency Accommodation Centre (WEAC) provides individualized, trauma-informed support to people who identify as women experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Using a strengths-based and culturally responsive approach, the role assists participants in building life skills, achieving personal wellness goals, and accessing housing and community supports. Working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, the Case Worker delivers wraparound services that promote stability, empowerment, and long-term recovery.
Schedule

Rotating day, evening, or overnight shift schedule
- Day: 7:00AM – 3:30PM
- Evening: 3:00PM – 11:30PM
- Overnight: 11:00PM – 8:00AM

This is a shift working position and schedule may vary according to program needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide relationship-based, trauma-informed support to women through life skills development, wellness coaching, and daily interactions.
- Deliver direct support including emotional assistance, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.
- Support women in navigating housing, health, and social systems, connecting them to appropriate services and long-term supports.
- Assist with case management, including intake, goal setting, and action planning to promote stability and independence.
- Collaborate and communicate with the interdisciplinary team to share updates, monitor progress, and coordinate care.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment while supporting daily operations, including medication assistance and maintaining program spaces.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and reporting to support quality service delivery and program accountability.
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma in a human services, or related field.
Certification
- Standard First Aid and CPR
- Suicide Intervention
- Trauma Informed Care
- Harm Reduction
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention
Experience
- 1+ years of experience working with vulnerable or marginalized populations.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships using a client-centered, strengths-based approach.
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs, including trauma, addictions, mental health, and poverty.
- Strong knowledge and application of harm reduction, trauma-informed, solution focused and evidence-based practices
- Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office and database documentation.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive Salary: $51,844.00
- 3 weeks vacation + 10 paid sick days
