Job Synopsis
This role contributes to MCC BC’s mission of sharing God’s love and compassion through local and global relief, development, and peacebuilding by helping equip and support MCC BC teams with effective, reliable technology.
Reporting to the I.T. Manager and as a member of the MCC BC Information Technology team, the Systems & Support Specialist plays a key role in ensuring MCC BC’s technology systems effectively support staff across administrative offices, thrift shops, social enterprises, and affiliated organizations throughout British Columbia. This role provides approachable, knowledgeable, and dependable technology support across a wide range of systems, platforms, and environments.
MCC BC is a faith-based organization, and this role is carried out within the context of MCC BC’s Christian identity and values, including participation in organizational faith practices and engagement with churches and faith communities.

Qualifications
ESSENTIAL

Demonstrated commitment to a personal Christian faith and discipleship, active participation in a Christian church or Christian community, and nonviolent peacemaking

A certificate, diploma or degree in relevant technology platforms and services, or three years of relevant experience, or some combination of education and experience

Legally able to work in Canada

Satisfactory criminal record clearance (required upon hire)

Valid BC Driver’s License with a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
PREFERRED

Experience with Microsoft technologies in professional environments strongly preferred

Knowledge of Canadian faith-based charities an asset
KEY COMPETENCIES
-*Advanced Technical Troubleshooting:*Expert at diagnosing and resolving a wide range of hardware, software, and network issues -*Microsoft & Cloud Proficiency:*Skilled in configuring, supporting, and maintaining Microsoft-based systems (e.g., MS Azure, MS Intune, Exchange & M365) and various cloud/SaaS platforms, along with related devices and networks (VPN, LAN, wireless) -*User Support & Communication:*Effective at interpreting and explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences, providing top-tier end-user support, and delivering formal and informal training -*Project & Priority Management:*Capable of independently managing multiple projects, requests, and priorities, ensuring timely and organized completion of tasks -*Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration:*Adept at engaging with stakeholders professionally, maintaining vendor relationships, and working both independently and in cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure MCC BC’s technology systems and services effectively support staff across programs, locations, and affiliated organizations in carrying out the organization’s mission.
- Contribute to the reliability, security, and ongoing improvement of MCC BC’s technology environment, including systems, applications, and devices.
- Provide responsive, approachable, and clear technology support that enables staff to confidently and effectively use technology in their work.
- Collaborate with MCC BC colleagues, MCC Canada and MCC Global partners, vendors, and service providers to deliver coordinated and effective IT services.
- Participate in continuous learning and contribute to improvements in technology systems, processes, and service delivery.
- Participate fully in MCC BC’s organizational life and contribute to a respectful, safe, and accountable workplace culture that reflects MCC BC’s Christian identity, values, and safeguarding commitments.

Salary Details
. The salary range for this position is $58,200-$64,660 annually. Placement within the salary range will be based on qualifications.

- This position operates primarily within general office hours of 8:30 – 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Can require working extended, after or holiday hours, if necessary. -*Work environment and physical demands:*This position will work in a busy office environment, responding to requests as they come in and with some project deadlines. This position may require up to 100% computer-monitor time. This position may require lifting up to 50 pounds. This position will have low interactions with vulnerable populations.
Location Description
This position is located at MCC BC’s Abbotsford head office. Hybrid work may be possible. May require travel to other communities or MCC BC locations within British Columbia or to liaise with MCC Global I.T. services across North America, as necessary.
